At Eyes on the Square, our purpose is to glorify God through excellent care and service for you and your family. We are committed to providing a comfortable, informative, and personalized experience with individualized treatment plans, quality eyewear, and an honest approach to medicine. We are a team of life-long learners, dedicated to continually growing and improving to ensure we're able to exceed our patients' expectations.
Dr. Matt Howell
Owner & Optometrist
Dr. Howell was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas, but fell in love with Northwest Arkansas while attending the University of Arkansas for his undergraduate degree. During his time on The Hill, Dr. Howell met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Katherine. After getting married in NWA, the couple spent 4 years in the suburbs of Chicago while Dr. Howell obtained his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Midwestern University - Chicago College of Optometry. They now happily call The Ozarks home.
Dr. Howell and Katherine have two sons under the age of 2, Henry and Lewis.
When he’s not spending time with his family, Dr. Howell enjoys overlanding, hiking, mountain biking, firearms training, and obsessing over specialty coffee.
Dr. Howell is passionate about caring for patients with a wide range of eye conditions, and has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease. ​

Above all else, Dr. Howell and Katherine desire to share the Good News about Jesus Christ and to bring Him glory in all they do.
Katherine Howell
Human Resources & Marketing
Katherine was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but fell in love with Northwest Arkansas while attending the University of Arkansas. During her time at the U of A she was an active member in Kappa Delta and the Diamond Dolls, made lifelong friends, and fell in love with her husband, Dr. Howell. After getting married in NWA, the couple lived in Kansas City, MO while she obtained her license in Dental Hygiene and shortly thereafter moved to Chicago where she began her career. Upon her husband's completion of his optometry degree in Chicago the couple excitedly moved back to the only place that truly feels like home, NWA.
Katherine loves living near family again. She and her sons, Henry & Lewis, can often be found snuggling their mini goldendoodle, Charlie Faye, walking or biking at Coler, ordering cool new frames for the optical, cooking meal prep, or catching up with friends over coffee.
Katherine is passionate about marketing, business management, organization, aesthetics, optimizing office processes, all things HR, and continually learning new things. Her primary role in the office is cheering on her husband as he accomplishes his dreams, celebrating any and every occasion to the fullest, and being the “woman's touch” the office needs.

Above all else, Katherine and Dr. Howell desire to share the Good News about Jesus Christ and aim to bring him Glory in all they do.
Alina
Office Administrator
Alina has been in eyecare for over 7 years with a wide range of experience! She is our insurance guru, handles office communications, billing, and even has technician skills to help during your annual eye exam. She is also bilingual, speaking fluent English and Russian!
Alina moved from Washington state to Arkansas in 2013 to enjoy all that the natural state has to offer alongside her big, fabulous family! She and her sister attend Vision Church in Springdale.
Alina enjoys spending time with her family, photography, volleyball, a good home DIY project, and spending time at the lake.
Melonie
Optician
Melonie was born in Pampanga, Philippines. At the age of seven she moved to the Bay Area of California where she’s spent the majority of her life. Melonie has worked in nearly all roles within eyecare, but her true passion is opticianry, in which she has over twenty years of experience! She is skilled and talented in all aspects of opticianry, such as frame selection, frame adjustments, precise measurements, edging lenses, insurance interpretation, and so much more.
Melonie is unmatched in her ability to glance at someone and immediately know the perfect frame for them! She offers our patients a fun, personalized, detail oriented, extraordinary, and thoughtful experience from beginning to end. She will think outside the box, innovate on the spot, and customize every aspect possible to ensure you feel confident, function well, and enjoy your life in the frames of your choice.
Melonie has a beautiful daughter, Julianna Grace, who is excelling in her studies at Chico State. Melonie also has a four year old son, Isaac, who was born with a rare condition called VACTERAL syndrome. He has many specialized needs and is loved and cared for dearly by his mom and dad (Shawn). Isaac endured five surgeries by the age of one. Melonie and Shawn moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2024 in hopes of giving Isaac better specialized care and access to family nearby for support. Melonie and her family love being outdoors, trips to the beach, and taking beautiful hikes.
To know Melonie and her family is to love them. We trust you will have excellent experiences when you come into our optical (glasses shop) thanks to her care and service.
Adeline
Front Desk Coordinator
Adeline grew up in Alabama and will always give a good “Roll Tide.” She moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2021 to be closer to family and quickly fell in love with the area and community.
She serves as the Front Desk Coordinator at Eyes on the Square, where she is both the first and last impression for patients. With two and a half years of nursing school experience and CNA certification, Adeline brings a strong foundation in patient care, compassion, and professionalism to every interaction. She is known for creating a warm, welcoming environment and helping each patient feel comfortable and supported from check-in to check-out.
Outside of work, Adeline enjoys running, playing the violin, and serving others both in her church and in her community. Her faith is the most vital part of her life, and she loves spending time in God’s Word and engaging in thoughtful conversations about her beliefs.
Kristy
Patient Care Coordinator & Optometric Technician
Kristy has been joyfully caring for patients in eyecare for over fifteen years and genuinely loves working with people. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University and has served in just about every part of an optometry practice: pretesting, insurance and billing, optical, and front desk. That variety has shaped her into someone who understands the flow of a clinic and knows how to make patients feel cared for from the moment they walk in.
What matters most to Kristy is the personal side of the job. She enjoys slowing down, listening, and helping patients feel comfortable and understood. She also loves learning new things and staying engaged in a field that’s always growing and changing.

Outside the office, Kristy spends most of her time with her family, friends, and her cat, Jeremiah. She enjoys reading, crafting, quiet days at home, and anything that lets her recharge and be ready to give her best to the people she serves each day.
Natali
Front Desk Coordinator
Natali was born and raised on the sunny Central Coast of California, where she built her life around community, family, and a deep love for her children. Fluent in Spanish, she brings strong communication skills and a thoughtful, people-first approach to everything she does.
She spent more than 15 years serving the County of Santa Barbara, developing strong roots and a lasting commitment to public service. In 2022, Natali made the move to Arkansas, a decision that quickly became one of the most rewarding chapters of her life. She fell in love with Bentonville and its surrounding cities, drawn to the beautiful scenery, vibrant art scene, and welcoming atmosphere.
Natali is married to her wonderful husband, Maurilio, and the proud mother of two boys, with her oldest preparing to head off to college this summer. She treasures every opportunity to explore all that Northwest Arkansas has to offer. Each spring, she and her family enjoy floating the Buffalo River, a tradition that has become one of their favorites. She especially loves sharing her new hometown with visiting family, introducing them to the landscapes, culture, and charm that captured her heart.
